Labour Update from the Limestone District School Board
The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) announced November 2, 2015 that tentative collective agreements on central issues have been reached with both the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the provincial government. The details of both agreements remain confidential until ratified by all parties. Once ratified, the agreements will be valid until August 31, 2017.

Negotiations continue with both unions and the Limestone District School Board at the local level.

As a result of these tentative agreements, both ETFO and CUPE have suspended all previous work-to-rule job actions.

The Board and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) Limestone District 27, Teachers’ Bargaining Unit (TBU) achieved a Local Tentative Agreement on October 7, 2015. This local agreement and the previously approved central agreement form one complete Collective Agreement. The duration of this combined Collective Agreement will be valid until August 31, 2017.

The only central contract not yet agreed to is with OSSTF support staff. They remain in negotiations with OBSPA and the government.
