WELCOME TO CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION

Cooperative education combines classroom-based learning with practical work experience. Cooperative education offers students practical and "hand on" experience in a career or employment opportunity of their choosing. Students may take up to FOUR co-op credits in a semester (2 co-op credits is usually the norm, with a full afternoon or morning of co-op balanced by in-school courses, 1 credit of co-op is possible but sometimes difficult to fit into a regular academic timetable).

Bayridge students have been busy exploring future career opportunities and gaining practical work experience at the following placements this semester:

Ben Laduca Heating and Air Conditioning
Omega Fitness Centre
Montana's Cookhouse Saloon
Kelsey's
Bardon Plumbing Supplies Limited
Rosewood Retirement Home
Yves Rocher
Elements Natural Therapeutics
Amherstview Medical Centre
Bayridge Public School
Old Navy
Adeline Acres
Rona Home and Garden

Law and Security Focus Program students enjoyed unique co-op work placement opportunities with the following employers this semester:

Belleville Police Service
Napanee O.P.P.
Gananoque Fire Service
Corrections Canada
Alliance Alarms and Security
Invista Canada
Zellers Loss Prevention
Cataraqui Town Center Security and Life Safety
Queen's Security

Please speak to Mr. Cusson or Mr. Wong for more information on Co-Op learning and placement opportunities for Semester II.
