Program Description

Be Part of The Solution!!!

The Environmental Leadership Program focusses on expanding the knowledge and understanding of environmental issues. The program's aim is to inspire visionary, action-oriented  leadership to work for a sustainable future by investigating the impact of human activity, both locally and globally, on the planet. Being immersed in the natural environment will lead to a better understanding of the curriculum, thus, various field trips - including hiking, winter camping, and canoeing - will be incorporated during the course of the semester.

Students will have the opportunity to gain expertise, enhance skills, and broaden perspectives on environmental issues through co-operative education work placement. Students will be placed in a variety of workplace settings including resource management, eco-tourism, and outdoor education centers.

Some personal outdoors-related equipmen/gear is required and up to the individual to provide this. A list of personal gear requirements will be provided upon acceptance into the program. There is a course fee of $300.00 to offset some costs associated with transportation for field trips.
