Student Services Information:
Current Schedule:
Students can look up their schedule on Aspen. If needed, instructions are in the attached document. Student Portal Viewing Timetable
Alternatively, students can check the alpha list taped outside the main office tomorrow (Wednesday, September 2nd). This list indicates students' homeroom/first class teacher and room number. Students with a spare or room 100 assigned first period should go to Student Services for their schedule.
Schedule Change Requests:
Students who would like to request a change to their schedule should follow the process below. Please note that students are expected to attend all of their scheduled classes on the first day of school, even if they are hoping to make a change.
Tuesday, September 2: During Periods 2, 3, and 4, students may book an appointment with Ms. Kapuschat only if they do not have a schedule or if they are a part-time student with only two classes.
Wednesday, September 3 - Friday, September 11: Students in grades 9, 12, or International students with schedule requests should book an appointment with Ms. Sharpe. Students in grades 10, 11 or SHSM schedule requests should book an appointment with Ms. Kapuschat.
After Friday, September 11: Schedule changes may be considered in some cases if the teacher feels there is potential for student success. These changes will require approval from administration and parent/guardian permission.
June 2026 Report Cards:
Report cards that weren't picked up in July can be picked up in Student Services this month.
Medical Plans of Care:
Students with prevalent medical conditions (anaphylaxis/severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy or any other health-related need where a medical plan of care is needed) must have updated plans of care and relevant authorizations completed annually.
All plans of care and authorization forms can be found on the LDSB website Medical Procedures by selecting Section 300 – Student Related Forms. Please complete and return the appropriate forms via email bayss@limestone.on.ca or return to the main office. If you have any questions or need assistance completing the form(s), please contact the school 613-389-8932 or by email. We appreciate your timely attention to these forms so that we can ensure updated plans of care are put in place for the 2026-2027 school year.
Grade 9 information
We had a great time meeting many of our grade 9s at Grade 9 orientation. We look forward to meeting all of you this week. Many thanks to our Connection Crew and Student Council members, as well as the many staff, who were here to facilitate the day.
Lockers:
We understand that some of our grade 9s are missing combinations for locks received at Grade 9 orientation last week. Not to worry - please see Candice in attendance and she will assist you!
Kingston Transit:
Each year, the City of Kingston works with the LDSB to provide bus passes for our Grade 9 students at no charge. Many Grade 9 students filled out a Kingston Transit form already and would have received their bus pass on orientation day this past Wednesday.
If you were not at orientation but filled out a form, you can pick up your pass from Candice in the main office.
If you have not yet filled out a form, you can fill out the form below and email it back to Mrs. Heather Stewart (stewarthe@limestone.on.ca) or bring a hard copy to your homeroom teacher next week. Please note, students should leave the Classification area blank. Also, this form requires a caregiver signature in the signature section. Bus forms must be filled out and given to Mrs. Stewart by Sept. 10th at the latest if students want their passes delivered to the school. Students have until Sept. 18th to ride the bus without a pass. After that, they will be charged a fare. After Sept. 10th student will need to go to Customer Service a the Cataraqui Mall or City Hall to get a bus pass. They will need a copy of their timetable to demonstrate they are a full-time student.

Athletics and New Students
Any students who are new to BSS (transfer students, International students, etc.) who are interested in participating in any sports should see our Athletic Director, Mr. Sean Allen (allensw@limestone.on.ca) asap.
Concussion information
The Limestone District School Board is committed to helping all students succeed and lead safe, healthy, and active lives. As part of its commitment to student safety, injury prevention, and well-being, the Ministry of Education supports concussion awareness, prevention, identification, management, tracking, and training in schools through legislation, policy, and resources.
On March 7, 2018, the Ontario government enacted Rowan’s Law (Concussion Safety), 2018, and amended the Education Act, to protect amateur athletes, including students, by improving concussion safety on the field and at school. The amendments to the Education Act came into force on July 1, 2019, and give the Minister of Education the authority to require school boards to comply with policy and guidelines on concussions, consistent with Rowan’s Law.
All school boards in Ontario are required to have a policy on concussion safety for students. These are outlined in Administrative Procedure 142: Concussions, as well as a variety of supporting resources and documents that outline a code of conduct for students and families, flow charts to identify and diagnose a concussion and assessment and management forms. The Ontario Physical Activity and Safety Standards in Education has information on their website regarding the concussion protocol.

Field Hockey
BSS Field Hockey runs from September until the end of October. It is a great sport that combines the positioning of soccer (10 players + goalie on the field) and the mechanics of hockey. It is a KASSAA varsity sport - our team will consist of between 20 - 25 athletes in grades 9 through 12. We typically practice 3 - 4 times a week (sometimes before school and sometimes after school) and usually have a double header once a week.
If you haven't played before, we are offering learn to play sessions on Thursday, September 3 after school from 3:00pm - 4:30pm. We will meet at the football bleachers at 3:00pm. Please wear athletic gear, including cleats/running shoes, and bring a water bottle. We have sticks and balls for those of you who do not have equipment. Official tryouts will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday after school.

In response to tragic events, locally or globally, students may experience a wide range of emotions, including sadness, confusion, worry, or questions about what they may be hearing from others. Students may react in different ways depending on their age, experiences, and how connected they feel to the situation. With time, reassurance, and support from caring adults, these reactions often ease.

LGBT YouthLine
YouthLine's Resource Library is an amazing tool for both students and educators. It's a great place to learn about 2SLGBTQ+ identities, coming out, self-care, Trans resources, wellness, and more. You can find links to a wide variety of articles, podcasts, and other amazing resources. Our resource library also has a referral database to help connect 2SLGBTQ+ youth with local services. This referral database is for in-person and location-based services, organizations, and collectives across Ontario.
Peer Support HelpLine
Our HelpLine is available for 2SLGBTQ+ youth under 30. It's staffed by peer support volunteers. These volunteers are all 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 16-29, living across Ontario. They're trained in active listening, anti-racism, harm reduction, and topics related to gender and sexuality. Some common things people call, text, or chat to talk about include:
- Questioning gender identity and/or sexual orientation
- Coming out
- Mental health
- Relationships with friends, partners, and family
- Feeling socially isolated
- Seeking referrals to resources and supports online and in your community
- ...or just to chat!

Habitat Kingston
At Habitat Kingston, students have the chance to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience while contributing to a cause that directly impacts local families. Our work focuses on building safe, decent, and affordable housing in our community—helping families build strength, stability, and independence through homeownership.
