Morning Announcements

We begin today by acknowledging that we have come together today on land that has been inhabited by Indigenous peoples for centuries.  As settlers on this land, we are grateful to be able to meet here. We thank the generations of people who have taken care of this land, stewards of this place for thousands of years. We acknowledge the many individual groups on whose territories each one of us live and work every day. We recognize the contributions these Indigenous peoples have made, in shaping and strengthening each of our communities, our province, and our country.

🌟 Tuesday Meetings
At Lunch: Arts Council Rm. 139, Robo-Club, room 140, Equity Team, room 110, Athletics Council Rm. 130, Math Help room 206
After School: There is a very important band practice after school today in the music room. All students attending Canada's Wonderland Music Festival are expected to attend. See Ms. Brennan if you are not able to attend for any reason.

🌟 Attention all Track and Field Athletes and Coaches - we will take a team photo at 11:15 in the gym today.  Bring your singlet and spikes to return if your season has completed. We’ll see all T&F members in the gym at 11:15 sharp!

🌟 Thank you, students and staff, for your support for the Blazers Giving Back Day extravaganza on Friday! Student Council thanks all volunteers who made it possible, to the Arts and Athletics Councils, classes who helped get things organized and our Connection Crew for running the grade 8 activities. Volunteers - listen to announcements so you know when to pick up your volunteer hours.  Thank you, Blazers!

🌟 Any students interested in performing at Evening of the Arts on May 29th need to sign up on the music bulletin board by end of the day tomorrow.

🌟 There are still a few spots left for next November’s NYC trip! Any students interested in participating should get their permission forms into Ms. Cameron or Mr. Cusson this week. Extra permission forms can be found on the back of door of RM 144 in the new wing. The School-Day trip payment portal will be opening later this week. 🌟 In late breaking Track & Field news, our junior boys 4 by 100 meter relay team has qualified for EOSSAA based on their time at KASSAA. Congratulations to Tristen Messenger, Andrew Burke, Denny Christopoulos and Guillermo Martinez

🌟 Congratulations to the Baseball Team on their 9-8 win over the Lasalle Black Knights yesterday. The team batted around in a seven-run second inning that saw several Blazers cross the plate for the first time this season. The game winning run was scored in the bottom of the fourth when Payton Gray took advantage of a wild pitch with an aggressive second-to-home sprint. Dylan Downie locked down his second win on the season allowing just two runs in three innings and striking out four. The team heads to Megaffin Park for a showdown with the Sydenham Golden Eagles tomorrow.

🌟 Ladies and gentlemen, Bayridge is now the home of not one, but TWO EOSSAA tennis champions! Hannah Kim won all three of her matches, including the championship final by a score of 6 to 3, while Victoria Vilchis got to play in one of the featured matches of the day, and she destroyed her opponent by a score of 6 to 0.  Unfortunately, Aidan Farrington and Carys Casucci got an unlucky draw but still did amazingly well for grade 11s.  Hannah has gone as far as she can as a junior player, as there is no OFSAA for junior players, but Victoria is still going, as she has qualified for OFSAA in June!  Congratulations and everyone on the tennis team is asked to come to room 140 at lunch for a surprise!!!

🌟 Attention Graduates!  If you still have a Valedictorian Nomination Form, a Class Poet Nomination Form, or a Major Awards Consideration form, please get those in ASAP in order for your input to count.  Thanks Grads!  Almost there!

🌟 Silent Auction items from Blazers Giving Back Day are ready to be picked up.  Would Vladi Kabankov, Mackenzie Connell and Zach Philpott please check their limestone email and/or see Ms. Scarlett in Social Science during break or at lunch today.  Thank you!
